Ocean Rescue!

On the third day of our cruise, our ship received a distress call from a small boat that either ran out of fuel or had engine trouble. Or, they just wanted onto our cruise. Apparently, maritime law requires anyone available to render assistance, and in this case it was our ship that was closest.

Here are photos of one of the ship's tenders being prepared for launch and subsequent recovery ops. This was apparently a unique enough event that a crewman wanted his own photos. The whole event took about a half hour.
